A Little Crafty Inspiration

I was bumming around online today, and I found some super cool project ideas!!

The first one I don’t think the hubby would go for, since it is a bit too “crafty”. Perhaps if we ever finish off the basement and I take over a room for my crafts, I would add these to my walls…

I have a bunch of old spools from my Memere, so it wouldn’t cost me anything…BONUS!

Next, I saw these cool platters, also from Pottery Barn. I’m headed to the Dollar Store this weekend for some party supplies, and if I see any plain platters, I’m going to snatch them up! Add a bit of chalkboard paint, and you’re in business!!!

I was thinking about putting them up above my cabinets in the kitchen…we’ll see.

I have also seen a fair amount of tutorials online on how to make your own hurricane candle holders like these from Williams-Sonoma.

You simply buy glass candleholders and some glass vases and glue them together! It is a bit more detailed than that, but you get the point. I’d love to have a few in different heights for my downstairs bathroom. I’ve also seen them where people get a smaller tube to insert into the big one and they add small decorative items (flowers, beads, etc) in between the two. Very cool and very crafty!!

Have you found any accessories from pricey retail stores that you’d like to re-do on a dollar store budget?? I’d love to hear about them!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Cheers!

Sharon
