Duck Season...Rabbit Season

Hey Everyone!

Well, another project for the done pile! This one I call, “Duck Season…Rabbit Season” in honor of one of my hubby’s favorite cartoon episodes. I wanted to make the Diva something for Easter, and this project fit the bill perfectly!!! It took me 2 nights to do, and I already had all of the yarn in my stash…sweet, eh??

The pattern comes from Susan B. Anderson, via the Spud and Chloe blog. (It’s free…grab the pattern here!) The duck and rabbit are knit in two pieces each (head and body). Then you seam it all together. The coolest part…it is reversible!! I can’t seem to find a good way to photograph the toy so it shows that it is reversible, so you’ll have to take my word for it. Perhaps I can snap one when the Diva is playing with it after Easter. (Sorry for the camera phone quality photos…I don’t want the Diva to see it, so I had to snap these quickly last night)

I am thinking that I might make a few more of these, but I’m not sure. I was actually thinking that it would be fun to make one of the sides a bear or pig…what do you think?? The basic head is all the same…then it is a matter of customizing the colors and ears, etc. Then you have to make sure that all of the “bits” fit up inside the other half. There are several full-sized reversible patterns in Susan’s “Itty Bitty Toys” book, so perhaps I’ll just go with one of those.

Next up…some socks for the Diva. Using… (Big surprise) another pattern from Susan!!

I’m casting on this afternoon…hopefully I’ll have some photos soon!!!

Cheers!

Sharon

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for following. I am a little behind in saying thanks to recent "joiners" but am glad you found my blog. I hope Canada is treating you well. I was a Canadian girl who never thought I would live in the US, which I loved (Virginia). I am now back in Canada and miss the south badly. I have never been to New England area and wish I had.

Calgary, a great city but, brrr, COLD!

Visiting from Creations by Kara. This is so cute. Thanks for linking the pattern. My daughter and I are both just learning how to knit and I think she will be more excited to by working towards a goal (especially one this cute) rather than just creating a long scarfish thing. TFS.
