Let's see who was paying attention

Hello All!!

So, I made a little change to my blog today...did you notice??  Probably not, as it wasn't anything major.  Under the title of my blog, it used to say, "Making my way through Michaels...one aisle at a time."  It now says, "A collection of all things crafty, culinary and a bit of crazy."  I'm not sure that I love the new description, but it does explain this blog a bit better.  In all honesty, I do go through most of the aisles at Michaels, but only because the yarn section is in the back and I have to pass everything else to get to it!!

If anyone has a better idea for the tag line, please let me know.  I just felt that I needed to incorporate my recent posts about food somehow, since they have gotten quite a bit of attention.

Speaking of food, hubby and I bought the cookbook, "ad hoc at home," by Thomas Keller this week, and we are anxious to start trying some of his awesome recipes.  So, expect that you'll be seeing some reviews in the next few weeks.  Also, we're counting down to our night out with Eric Ripert, where we are going to hear him speak and then attend a wine tasting after party with him, so be sure to check back the first week of February for that post.  After we saw Anthony Bourdain last year, we really modified our thoughts on cooking good food at home.  I cannot wait to hear Chef Ripert's thoughts and see what good ideas we take home with us!!

Cheers!

A Cure for the Winter Blahs...

Hello All!!

Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately.  I have two honest to goodness excuses...1. I have been making lots of Christmas gifts that I can't show on the blog, and 2. I have been making a bunch of crafts for another blog I contribute to, Kids in Cowtown.

One of my latest projects is today's post...go check it out.  It is a great project for curing the winter blahs.

Here's a hint...

What are you waiting for??  Head over to the other blog to see what I made!!!

Cheers!

We're Going Public!

Hey Everyone!

So, as you may be aware, I have a second blog that is actually older than this one.  I saved it for family news, etc.  A little while back I made it private...actually I did that right before Hannah "The Diva's" open heart surgery this past spring.  I wasn't ready to show the world the photos of my baby post-op.  However, after much thought, I decided to make it public again.  There is so much to my life besides knitting and gardening...and now I'm willing to share it with you all.

So, with that said, please check out http://cshgiles.blogspot.com/ and feel free to follow along!!

Cheers!

Okay, I am so sorry that I don’t have 15 blogs to post…I read LOTS of awesome blogs on a regular basis, but my computer keeps freezing up on me…

Here are my 7 things (being typed in Word and the cut and pasted in, since Blogger hates me today!):

1. I knit blankets for a charity group called the Western Canadian Oddball Blanket Society (http:/wcobbs.blogspot.com), and I am also the Vice President of the group.

2. I used to work in Higher Ed Administration before becoming a SAHM…I was the Assistant Director of Admissions at a university back in Maine.

3. I have degrees in Technical News Production, PR, and Advertising…who would have thought that?!?

4. I have a crafty mind, but have a hard time making things a reality.

5. I am afraid of “nice” yarn, and get nervous going to LYS.

6. I truly miss home (Maine and NH), but secretly I really like Calgary.

7. I am going to be MIA in the near future, while my little Diva undergoes her 3rd open heart surgery in March.

There you have it…a bit about me, and some of the blogs that I haunt.

Cheers!

Yeah, I'm still here...

Hello!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am still alive! I have a few things on the needles right now, but nothing that I am overly excited about. So, needless to say, I have no new projects to show off...sorry!!!

In the meantime, feel free to head over to my family blog, http://cshgiles.blogspot.com/ to keep up to date on what I am up to.

Cheers!

I haven't forgotten...

Hello to anyone who reads this blog!! I haven't forgotten that I started this blog, contrary to popular belief. I have been crafting away, however the two projects I have been working on are both presents. I would hate to post photos and have the surprises ruined.
One of the projects is ready to be mailed out, so once I know that it has arrived at it's new home, I will post photos. I promise!!!! In the meantime, check out my other blog, here.
Take care and I'll write more when I can!!!
